InOurTime > October 30, 2009 Daily Photo. Batman and the Batcycle. This is not a Halloween costume as I have seen him around town before on several occasions.
InOurTime > 10/27/08 Daily Photo. Day 236. Taken on my iPhone. These pay phones are at the top of the stairs of one of the PATH entrances in Hoboken. I have passed these thousands of times (but I don't always use this entrance). Today when I saw them, I instantly thought "how cool it would be take a photo of these outdated pay phones with my iPhone and use it as my photo of the day." And there you have it. I could never have imagined the first time I saw these pay phones a lifetime ago that one day I would take a photo of them with a phone and then post it on something called the internet and thousands of people would look at it and think, "how cool is that?". LOL, yeah, right. As if.
InOurTime > July 18, 2009 Daily Photo. A beautiful beach day on Fire Island. I don't want to leave until September.
InOurTime > 10/3/08 Daily Photo. Day 212. Dusk at the Erie Lackawanna Ferry Terminal, Hoboken, New Jersey. This is the terminal that the ferries to Manhattan used to run out of, but the last ferry left this terminal in 1966. Ferries started again in the 1980's and run from a small area beyond this terminal. The buildings in the background are in Jersey City and there is water separating them from Hoboken, and you currently have to go around the train terminal and trainyard to get to Jersey City by foot or car. A pedestrian bridge is being built, I guess to make the Hoboken station ( ferry, commuter trains & PATH train to Manhattan) more accessible. The only way to get a good shot of this terminal is from the water.
InOurTime > Bastille Day Daily Photo. Day 131. The beach at Fire Island. A hurricane somewhere near Bermuda caused rough seas yesterday and today and it was overcast most of today as well. Not a beach day. I heard there were rip tides as well and that 3 people died on the Jersey shore from them Saturday night and yesterday. This shot pretty much sums up the atmosphere. There was a French Tri Color flying yesterday and I thought I would take a photo of it today for Bastille Day, but alas, it was not out today. People put up their flags when they are at their houses, so no flag means they are not on the Island.
InOurTime > 3/25/09 Daily Photo. The Ansonia, Broadway & 73rd Street, New York, New York. I haven't been in this part of town in ages and I only had my G9 with me, but I should go back with my Nikon D60. The detail on this building is incredible and I've always loved it. It was a hotel at one time but is a co-op apartment building currently. Bette Midler got her start singing in a gay bath house that used to be in the basement.

InOurTime > 11/7/08 Daily Photo. Day 247. Foggy skies over the Hudson. Midtown Manhattan from Castle Point, Hoboken. This is best viewed large as you can get on your screen so you can see the detail (like the New Yorker sign).
InOurTime > August 18, 2009 Daily Photo. Fountain in the park at twilight. Summer is fading fast and it seems like it just got here because May and June were all rain as was a lot of July. I was downtown (Manhattan near Wall Street and the WTC site) this afternoon and it was amazing how many dozens of people taking photos I passed in just a few blocks. They had cameras of every brand and point and shoots to huge DSLRs, with and without flash. Apparently, these tourists do not know there is a depression going on. I had planned to take a few shots of something but I couldn't bring myself to be one of the crowd. Besides, whenever I take a shot of something, someone invariably decides they want the same shot. I hate that. (I know, I am eccentric.) So I settled for the fountain near my gym which many of you have seen before.
