InOurTime > 11/5/08 Daily Photo. Day 245. Street scene in Hoboken in the rain. These old buildings were turned into condos about 26 years ago. The gates on the windows really aren't necessary. I can't imagine living with bars on all my windows. No cars in front of the building (believe me, that didn't last long) and a place across the street to shoot the pic under an entranceway out of the rain made this my daily photo. The leaves are all over the sidewalks now and soon the trees will be bare. The cycle of life.

InOurTime > June 7, 2009 Daily Photo. People traditionally leave their sandals at the top of the stairs leading to the beach at Fire Island. It wasn't quite beach weather....mid 70's and windy but it was still a nice day.
InOurTime > March 5, 2009 Daily Photo. Day 365. View from the West Village toward Hoboken and Jersey City. Usually I am taking photos from the opposite side of the Hudson in the park in front of the building with the two pyramids you can see on the middle right. Thought it would be interesting to take a pic from this side but the light got away from me and I had no tripod so this will have to do. You really need to look at this as large as you can. In the end, I did what I always do in choosing my 365th daily photo. I just took photos when I could (which was after work) and then picked the one I liked the best. Thanks for all of your comments and good wishes over the past year. I will keep posting a photo every day but I won't guarantee that I took it that day. I may just edit and post one from another day.
InOurTime > 11/12/08 Daily Photo. Day 252. The Tweed Courthouse. Boss Tweed went to prison for allegedly embezzling tons of money in the construction of this building between 1861 and 1872. It was said at the time the building wouldn't last 20 years. Guiliani spent $85,000,000 renovating it as a new home for the Museum of the City of New York and Bloomberg reneged on that deal and turned this magnificent public building into a home for the Board of Education bureaucracy. He also put a small school in there for political cover. No expense was spared in renovating the building because it was to be a public building. Very limited tours are available but they are only given for individuals on certain Fridays at 2pm with a prior reservation. There are only 4 such tours in all of November & December. But of course I only took the photo because I like the columns.
